About Us
Our story begins with Owyn.
At nine years old, Owyn was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. To save his life, he underwent a right‑leg, above the knee amputation and months of chemotherapy both before and after surgery. He faced more than most kids—or adults—ever will, meeting every challenge with a quiet, steady courage that continues to inspire us.
During treatment, we searched for children’s books that showed kids with limb differences living full, joyful, adventurous lives. Books that said, “You’re not alone. You’re still you. And everything will be okay.” But those books were almost impossible to find.
So we decided to create one.
Owyn and the Midnight Muncher began as a therapeutic outlet for our family—a way to bring light into a difficult season. It quickly grew into something bigger: a story meant to comfort, empower, and uplift other children and parents walking a similar path. A story that celebrates resilience, imagination, and the kind of bravery that doesn’t always look loud.
We hope Owyn’s journey brings encouragement to families who need it, and reminds every child that their story is worth telling.
